About Us
Make Bethlehem Beautiful (NPC) was founded in 2025, as a community-led initiative to inspire hope, action, and pride in the town we all call home.
We believe that small things like cleaning a sidewalk, a fresh coat of paint, and genuine care about this town can spark something bigger - a brighter future, a more united community.
What We Do
Since the launch of this movement in 2025, our online footprint has grown to reach over 1 million people every month. What do we do with that influence?
We spread positivity.
We share every good deed, every happy story, and every renewed beautiful space in our town. We work together with our local municipality to do what they can't. In turn, they often help us too! We don't get held up with politics or opinions.
We take action.
Ongoing Projects & Teams
Parks & Recreation Team
These teams tackle any public spaces that need a clean-up. From overgrown sidewalks to cemeteries. They work very hard to cut & clear parks, and even school playgrounds. You can support them by sponsoring a cleanup (funds will go towards labour, materials and transport).
Better Roads,
Better Bethlehem
Every pothole fixed is a step toward a safer, prouder, stronger Bethlehem. And a better Bethlehem is better for business! If you're struggling with deteriorated roads around your business (or home), you can get in touch and learn how you could sponsor one of our weekly road repairs.
Yellow Bin Project
Have you seen the yellow bins all across town? That's us! These bins help to keep public spaces cleaner, and are cleared regularly by our local municipality and Drom Tjom. You can sponsor the set-up of a bin and cover the monthly cost of Drom Tjom. In return, you earn a advertising space for your business.
Wings & Wheels Airshow
It's not all work & no play. There's also time for fun for the whole community! We've brought back the famous annual Bethlehem Airshow - just bigger and better. Coming 30 May 2026. Tickets go on sale this March.

Invest in visible hope
Growing our monthly donor family gives us stable support to fix more, clean more, and plan ahead with confidence.

![Apparently, trying to make Bethlehem better can upset some people...🤷♀️
But that's okay.
We know it’s not technically our job.
We just love our town enough to do something about it 🌻
So we’ll keep showing up, keep working and keep staying positive.
Because complaining won’t change Bethlehem. People will.
You can be one of them. 👇

![Big projects like repairing potholes require big funding.
But that doesn't mean we're stopping.
While we work towards funding those bigger projects again, we'll keep doing what we can with what we have... We'll continue cleaning up our town, caring for public spaces, maintaining sidewalks, planting a little beauty where we can, and looking after existing infrastructure (like clearing stormwater drains, to help prevent even more damage to our roads).
Because making Bethlehem beautiful isn't only about fixing what's broken.
It's also about taking care of what we already have 🌻
But we really do need your donations...

![That's exactly how Make Bethlehem Beautiful began. Nobody had unlimited time, unlimited money or unlimited resources. Just a group of people who loved their town enough to stop waiting and start doing🩷🌻
Imagine what Bethlehem could become if more of us did the same.

![We didn't win Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar.
We came second...🥈
Would winning have helped? Absolutely.
That prize money could have changed so much for Bethlehem. But here's the thing...Make Bethlehem Beautiful never started because of a competition.
We started because we were tired of waiting for someone else to care!
So while some people were saying,
"Nothing will ever change." Others picked up a shovel, painted a wall, covered a pothole, donated R50! Some gave up Saturday mornings to help make this town a better place to live in for everyone (Ja tannie, selfs vir jou wat so kla...)
So what Mr. Stix is trying to say is...THANK YOU!
To everyone who voted...
To everyone who supports us...
To everyone who still believes that Bethlehem is worth fighting for...
NOW LET'S KEEP GOING!
Because this town was never going to be changed by a trophy. It can only be changed by its people.
Want to be part of it? You know what to do 👇
